A local woman who is a two-time cancer survivor spends a lot of her time making gifts for other cancer patients. Wenonah Martin says she likes to knit when she is watching television but the catch is that she is legally blind. “If I could see, I could make it all in one piece and not have a seam in it,” said Martin. It is a challenge but Wenonah keeps going. She works with her daughter Judy Mayo to make sure her designs are just right. “Oh, I’m definitely her assistant,” Mayo said jokingly.
