Suicide is the road where life faces death.

Pain wants to pull the trigger, jump off, swallow many, hide and disappear.
Excruciating holes in one’s soul echo:
NOBODY CARES
LIFE WILL NEVER GET BETTER
THERE’S NO WAY OUT
What frightens me to the core is how temporary and fleeting suicide can be.
Too many choose death before they get the job, before the spouse is ready to forgive, before the house is sold, before the charge is dropped, before a new friend enters their life
And
Before allowing Jesus to hold them in their clutter of grief, depression, shame, and hopelessness.
I know.
It could have been me.
In my early 20’s I was fascinated with Sylvia Plath. A heavy, hopeless secret laid in the pit of my soul. I believed Miss Plath was brave for going through with it, for taking her own life.
